All the details around opening times, procedures and services will be under regular review with a view to returning to normal operation as soon as it is safe to do so. The web site will contain the latest details on our services and operation. Please read the following sections so you understand the changes we have had to implement..

If we are open we will be operating on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am until 4pm
- You MUST pre-book NO turn up and collect, see below for details on how you can pre-book before our opening day.
- You will be allocated a time slot for collection.
- Toilets will be for staff use ONLY.
- We are now accepting new registrations, please ring to book a time slot when you can register and after registration you will be able to take the equipment out.
How to book
- You must call and speak to someone to make a booking, NO answer phone messages, text messages or emails.
- You can call and make bookings only on the days we are open.
- We have allocated time slots at 15 minute intervals.
- We know some of you have a favorite scooter, while we will endeavor to facilitate your requirements we may have to substitute a similar scooter.
- Bookings maybe subject to alteration / cancellation. We will do our best to contact you about the change.
- Long term loans are now available. Please call to book a collection time.
Collection process
- Please arrive shortly before your allocated time.
- If you arrive early please remain in your car until the allocated time or one of our staff indicate you can continue with the collection.
- If you arrive late, please wait until we have processed any subsequent booking(s).
- If you are arriving by taxi or bus then we will ask you to wait outside on a provided chair.
- ONLY the user and 1 assistant if required will be allowed into the reception area everyone else to please remain outside.
- Present your card.
- We will then take you to the scooter.
- The scooter will have been freshly wiped down before you use it.
- Exit as usual from the middle doors.
Returns processes
- You MUST return the equipment by 4pm to allow us time to clean it.
- Please return via the fire exit doors and ring the bell to park in the marked bays in our chair store.
How we protect our customers
- Equipment will be sanitized before and after every user.
- Only one person + assistant in reception at a time, all other people in the group to remain outside.
- Only one person + assistant in the chair store at a time.
- You may need to wait in a queue to be allocated equipment or when returning equipment.
How we protect our staff
- Hand sanitizer, gloves, masks and face shields are provided.
- We have installed protective screens to help separate staff and customers where possible.
- We have enhanced our cleaning processes to protect our staff and customers. This includes but not limited to the sanitizing of surfaces and equipment throughout the day.
Shopmobility Watford is a local charity which loans manual and battery powered wheelchairs and scooters to anyone with a mobility problem, whether permanent or temporary, through accident, illness or age. It gives users greater independence to do their own shopping, visit libraries, banks etc. or for leisure.
This service is FREE for daily use in Watford Town centre (from Tesco Extra to Watford Town Hall). This includes intu Watford shopping centre. |

We NEED Volunteers
Would you like to be a volunteer for Shopmobility Watford. Duties vary from office work to issuing scooters and wheelchairs to service users.
Two references required. Please ring 01923 211020 and ask for the Manager
